Janet Beirne Park, is an inner city park in an area that is experiencing increasing density and a changing demographic, The existing park needed significant upgrades to adapt to greater, and different use. The new park design evolved through community consultation, analysis of the existing site, and a review of other facilities locally and regionally.
The result is a bright and lively park that includes a new playground with custom designed play equipment, a sunny retreat terrace, improved BBQ and seating facilities, open lawn terrace with rain garden and improved circulation and accessibility.
Overall the new Janet Beirne Park is a creative, modern and much needed addition to the inner city park network that is clearly reflected through its popularity with all ages and user groups at different times of the day.
