Chinatown

Merry Christmas from the jila team

This year saw the completion of some great projects, in the public domain in Canberra and Sydney. Constitution Avenue in Canberra has been completed along with Thomas & Hay Street in Chinatown, amongst others.

A selection of our recently completed projects have been awarded at a state and national level, with Forest Edge Garden taking out the AILA National Gardens Award of Excellence and Chelsea Street Park receiving the AILA NSW Landscape Architecture Award – Parks and Open Space. Campbell Section 5 (Hassett Park) was also recognised for design excellence, being awarded AILA ACT Award for Excellence – Parks and Open Space, and was highly commended in the Stormwater NSW Award for Excellence in Integrated Stormwater Design.

We wish you all a safe and happy festive season, and we are looking forward to working on more exciting projects in the New Year.

Thomas & Hay underway ….

After several months of civil works the first sections of the combined street upgrade and public artwork are being installed at the Thomas & Hay Street project in Haymarket.

The design is being realised with installation of the first sawn bluestone boulders and paving setts. We eagerly await the arrival of the cup floating rock and bronze scholar rocks that will  fully realise the scheme.

Chinatown under construction

Our project at Thomas & Hay Sts started construction in January and is due for completion mid 2015. Stay tuned for progress information!

Thomas Street Chinatown goes to the community

Thomas Street Chinatown, a project that we have been commissioned to work on for the City of Sydney, has just been exhibited to the community.

Feedback has been really positive, and we are looking forward to moving in to documentation in the coming months.

As part of the exhibition a video was produced featuring Jane, Philip and Lindy talking through the scheme. Watch video Here.
