Diverse Places

Woven place is a conceptual landscape installation created for the Year of the Built Environment Garden Exhibition, held in the Sydney Botanic Gardens in 2004. Woven Place combines some basic perceptions of garden making with a concern for environmental sustainability.

The landscape becomes a garden through human intervention – nature intersecting with culture. A series of spaces, or ‘garden rooms’, are formed with simple screens and definition of the ground plane about an existing tree.
